How long are tutoring sessions?

Each student is allowed to stay for 1 hour and 30 minutes 4 days a week for tutoring.

04

Do you accept Vouchers?

No, at the moment we do not currently have any partnerships with federal or state agencies that will pay annually for students. As we would love to have that type of partnership we unfortunately do not. All plans are paid through with credit or debit contractual on a monthly basis, either 6 months or 12 months, depending on which plan the parent chooses. We accept credit or debit, we do not currently accept cash or check.

05

Can my child do their homework at the center?

Yes, but we try not to make this an every session thing. We prefer our students to work on homework with their parents so that we are creating a team dynamic, and we all know what areas are improving or need more attention. Our center has our own curriculum, syllabus, and schedule that we use to make sure your child is learning all areas of their subject. Only having 1 hour and 30 minutes with our students. Our goal is for our students to be able to do their homework independently due to the things they're learning at our center.

06

Do I have to schedule a time for each tutoring session?

No, not at all. Your child will electronically check in once they arrive. You are able to drop your child off at any time we are open, you just have to pick them up once their 1 hour and 30 minutes is up. No need to schedule a session, once you are a member of a plan, you are welcome in 4x a week.

07

Is parent meetings mandatory?

Yes, our goal is to meet each time our students have a progress report from their school. It's important for our students to know we all support their education in all the ways possible.

08

Why don't you offer transportation for 1st graders and 7th-12th graders?

We currently only offer transportation for 2nd-6th grade due to 1st graders still being in an early development and needing to see their parents, after being away for 8 hours.

We don't offer for 7th-12th due to the schedules of this age group extra curricular activities including sports and work.

We will try our best to provide MTA bus passes to our students who need them, as our center is on the bus route.

Our goal is to partner with the schools and have a stop added to the school buses route, so that all children have the chance to come to tutoring directly after school.

09

Do I have to sign a 6 or 12 month payment agreement?

Yes, our plans is to make sure that your child is getting the support they need to fill in their learning gaps so that they can continue being successful. Month to Month is not available as tutoring doesn't help if we only see our scholars 2 months out of the year. PRACTICE MAKES PROGRESS!

10

Do you offer a free trial?

No, we currently do not offer a free trial but we do offer Free National Testing on your child's first day so that we can see what areas your child needs the most attention with. So that we are able to hit the pavement on their road to success.

11

Is this open to the public?

Yes, we not only serve students in the Flint area but Genesee County as a whole. We made sure to pick a location on Center Rd so that we are close to different cities including Genesee, Burton, Davison, Grand Blanc, and so on.

12

My child is improving at the center but not in school, why?

There are many factors that can come with your child school grades not improving. Even though we all know they understand, comprehend and can independently do the work. Our tutoring center strives to give a more direct semi-1on1 feel so that learning is easier. Distractions are removed, and we encourage scholar behavior. Please speak with your child's teacher, make sure they're turning in all of their homework, and completing school work using their best efforts, make sure if they need extra time to complete work, a separate room to complete work, a 504-plan, or if they need more strategies on note taking and test taking, that they're receiving that. We will be more than happy to speak with your child's teacher as well to make sure they're not receiving the short end of the stick.

13

Are there any days the center is pre-set to be closed?

Yes, we do follow federal holidays, and the Atherton Highschool schedule and snow days. Also it's very important to know that we reserve the right to close due to temperature and road conditions in the winter.

14

I've ran into financial hardship, what now?

No worries, we do offer a 1 month pause of payment on our 6 month memberships and a 2 month pause on our 12 month memberships. Speak to IATC director for financial assistance.
